Step one
The audio
Ten episodes, under two hours in total. They play in whatever podcast app is already on your phone, so you can listen while you drive, cook, or fold something.
Listen to Raising a Self-Directed Learner
Start with episode one. It is the longest and everything else rests on it.
Open the private feedHow to add a private feed to your podcast app
A private feed is not searchable, so you add it by link rather than by looking it up. It takes about a minute.
- On an iPhone or iPad: tap the link above on your phone and choose Apple Podcasts when it asks. If nothing happens, copy the link, open Apple Podcasts, tap Library, then the three dots in the top corner, then Add a Show by URL, and paste it.
- On Android: tap the link and pick your podcast app. In Pocket Casts it is Profile, then the plus sign, then Add Private Feed. In Podcast Addict it is the plus sign, then Add RSS Feed.
- In Spotify: Spotify does not accept private feeds. Use Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Overcast, or just press play in your browser.
- Not sure? Tap the link on your phone rather than your computer. Most phones will offer you a list of apps to open it in, and any of them will work.
Step two
Start here
Before the episodes, spend five minutes on the first document. It is a checklist, there is nothing to think up, and it ends by naming one job to hand over this week. Everything else in this program builds on that one job.
Step three
The five documents
Print them, or make your own copy of the Google Doc and type into it. They are yours to keep.
1. What You’re Still Doing
A five-minute checklist of everything you are currently carrying. You check boxes; there is nothing to write. It ends by picking one job to hand over.

Email me and I will sort it out. If the feed will not load on your phone, tell me which app you are using and I will send you the steps for that one.
