    • After more than a decade as a public school teacher, I walked away from a system that was failing kids—but not from my passion for helping them thrive. That passion evolved into a mission: empowering parents to raise confident, curious, and Uninfluenceable kids in a world that’s constantly trying to shape them.

    Now I give parents the tools to raise confident, screen-conscious, and self-driven learners—kids who think critically, embrace curiosity, and stay grounded in who they are no matter what the world throws at them.

    Through my book Uninfluenceable, my coaching programs, and my speaking work, I help families break free from screen dependence, rebuild connection, and nurture the life skills that matter most—resilience, critical thinking, and a strong sense of self.

    I also consult with schools and organizations that want to create learning environments rooted in curiosity, real-world readiness, and emotional well-being. Because when we give kids the space to think for themselves, we raise a generation that can change the world.

      Play. Learn. Thrive. did an amazing workshop for the Parents ERG of Vox Media. After being stuck in our houses, trying to work, live, and play, we were all feeling a bit burnt out and looking for inspiration. Alanna’s workshop helped us think about our spaces in new ways, how to add more function to our space, and what we could add that could enhance solo play (that amazing solo play!!!). Alanna was so warm and welcoming with our ERG questions and even was proactive by providing us tips & resources as takeaways.

      There’s so much research out there to support the benefits of letting kids play, but they need the space to let them freely use their imagination. Alanna is the absolute expert in helping parents create spaces to promote learning through play. She did an awesome job at consulting me on how to improve my daughter’s room to help foster the space for her imagination to run wild. First, we worked on decluttering, and then she helped me organize toys and materials by themes, presented in a way that was accessible and easy for my 5-year-old to use without me needing to supervise her. Lastly, Alanna recommended creating a fun reading nook and dress up area.
